The Horses of ABS

These are the permanent residents of ABS

(NOTE: our racing/breeding stock have now moved to the Karobeer pages)

Red Ghost - 16hh

1997 Grey Gelding (Double Shadow x Paleface Yankee)

This horse is a lifer with ABS. He's our very own "Mr Reliable" when it comes to ridden work; leave him for weeks and jump on bareback and he'll be as good as gold. The first one at the gate for dinnertime, and the last one to leave in the hopes he'll get another scratch - one thing is for sure, he'll never be leaving our property!

Mush Mush - 17hh

2002 Grey Gelding (Flight Laag x Ticked Off)

Huey came to us a wreck. We spent 8 months getting him sound after a nasty case of seedy toe saw a good 1/3 of his hoof wall removed. He's now sound again and is an excellent riding horse. He's definitely a character, full of his own ideas on how things "should be" - though you have to watch him at feed-time; turn your back for 5 seconds and he's got his head through the door and pinched the bucket you've been making up and is now making a beeline for freedom with it!

Jaguar Sea
2001 Black/Brown Gelding (Jaguar Cam USA x Sapphire Sea)

Jag came to us to be re-homed ... Re-home him we did, with us!!

The minute we worked this gelding, we knew he was something special .... He's one of those horses that comes along once in a blue moon and you just know it's yours ... He's sensitive, very switched on, and a real pleasure to ride .... While his saddle career is only in early days, we really are expecting big things from this fellow!!

Tomix
2001 Bay Gelding (Safely Keft x Lynmara)

Huelio joined the ranks of ABS in Feb 2010 as a permanent resident .... Already well started under saddle, this lad has a bright future ahead of him .... He will eventually be out competing in breed classes and low level dressage, but first, we will have to teach him that circle IS a shape .... Huels, as he is affectionately known, seems prefer squiggly lines and oblongs ...

Not quite the consistent pacer required for the track, Huels never saw the trials, let alone the races ... He does however, LIKE to work .... So much so, he waits at the gate each day hoping that it's his turn to go for a ride next..... We're also told this cheeky devil has a not so secret penchant for Chicken Shapes and Icypoles!

Welcome
