News and Events

8th Feb 2010:

The ponies are all home!! we spent the entire weekend shifting everyone, and picking up 2 new mares from 2 hours away .... Now all that's left to do is move the humans in the weekend coming .... The joys of moving...

For now, here's some piccies of one of the paddocks .... The front paddocks are pasture improved and green from the recent rains, all 7 dams are full, and life is pretty sweet for the ABS team!! We'll be working to improve the back paddocks soon, as well as section of some smaller paddocks, and put up some day yards ....

4th Feb 2010:

Exciting news indeed! We have exchanged contracts on our lovely new property, and settlement is towards mid-end Feb .....  The vendors have very kindly agreed to let us move the ABS monster herd in early, so that will start in the next week or so ....
Once settled, we have THREE bay geldings to pick up, and a bay stallion (an absolute doll mind you, still racing, won 65K) .... So that will take us to 5 in the Available Horses section!!!
Honestly, we may not have a lot of training progress this month, with the move and the fact that we fly overseas to get married at the END of Feb (we don't do anything by half measures round here!!), but we'll be back into full-swing by Mid-March....

Exciting times, but a VERY BUSY next few months for us!!

17th Jan 2010:

Well, with the withdrawal from the previous property we'd been looking at, we'd since been enjoying a stressful time looking for another suitable property. We are now extremely pleased to announce that we are under offer with another lovely property which will more than meet our needs, both horse and human .... The property has 140 acres fenced into 5 paddocks with 7 dams, and a very cute 3 bedroom home with a great outdoor BBQ area and fruit orchard!

  • The purchase of this property is exciting news for ABS, as it will allow us to reach out further to Standies in need of a life after racing!

Keep checking back for more news!
